Description

The VIA Lab's VP242 is an USB Type-C DRP CC controller with BC 1.2 smart charging. The VP242 provides the electrical measurement to support USB Type-C CC controller features and supports DRP with Try.SRC function for 3A Mode. The VP242 supports output control signals for VBUS source and sink switches. The VP242 also provides the automatic starting signal for VBUS sink switch  when dead battery happens. The VIA Lab's VP242 also provides the backward compatibility with the electrical protocol handshake on D+/D- to support the battery charging schemes; BC 1.2, Chinese Telecommunication Standard YD/T 1591-2009, Divider Mode (complaint with Apple® devices), and DCP 1.2V Mode (compliant with Samsung devices).
